A Memorial Day Weekend presentation at the Rocky Mountain Museum of Military History featured two WMMOA Members SGT Will Deschamps USMC and LtCol Bob Whaley USMC Ret. sharing their Vietnam service and stories to an appreciative audience. LtCol Whaley who served multiple tours as a medevac helicopter pilot and Forward Area Controller pilot shared several harrowing events from his tours, and SGT Deschamps an Aviation Electronic Tech working on F-4s at Da Nang airbase told us why it took so long for him to finally get his pilot wings. A great presentation and great job by Museum Director Tate Jones (WMMOA member) on arranging the events throughout the weekend.

There were a number of formal events on Memorial Day to remember our Fallen Veterans. In the morning Florence Vets including WMMOA’s COL Jim Hamilton place flags on Veteran graves. And later in the day WMMOA’s BG Dale Stovall led graveside wreath layings at several cemetaries in Missoula.
