As many of you may remember, Missoula competed with hundreds of cities across America to have their WWI statues upgraded. Our Doughboy Statue at the Courthouse in Downtown Missoula, needed a major upgrade and led by Gary Sorensen the Western Montana Military Officers Association and the American Legion put together a strong pitch to the County. The County was successful and received a check for $2,000 to clean and make it possible for those vets in wheelchairs to get to the statue.
Work began on July 30th and we owe a special thanks to Gary Sorensen for getting things started and for then President John Angwin of the American Legion Post 27 for helping make this happen.
