Sen Tester, CWO 3 Jack Babon, Rep Gianforte and Sen Daines
This year’s 2019 Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) “Storming the Hill” in Washington, D. C. was attended by incoming president CW3 Jack Babon USA (Ret). A full day of seminars on Tuesday with training for chapter committee module (computer stuff) and preparation briefings for Wednesday’s “Storming the Hill” appointments with members of Congress. Tuesday evening was devoted to attending the MOAA award ceremony where Montana Senator Jon Tester was awarded the 2019 Congressional Leadership Award for his work in protecting the rights and interests of uniformed service members, their families, and survivors. Wednesday was spent meeting with our three Congressional members and their staffers discussing the MOAA National Initiatives for Congress. All three had signed onto the SBP/DIC Offset legislation and were supportive of the 3.1% and TRICARE suggestions. Thursday was more seminars and open forum. Dialogue with state chapter and council members was rewarding and useful for future information and contacts. If you have additional questions or thoughts, please let Jack know and he would be glad to share any information he received while in DC.
