Well, we have officially kicked off our WMMOA 2020/21 Season! A great group of members and friends gathered for a special private showing of the new Tom Hanks movie “Greyhound”. During the past 6 months of ChiCom Flu challenges, there has been little opportunity for the group to gather and interact. With the gradual relaxing of some of the requirements the Roxy Theatre opened for limited group private parties. Also hit by the pandemic was the release of “Greyhound’ which came out only on Apple TV. Suzan Olinger to the rescue! Suzan has a membership and we worked with the theatre to be able to show the movie on the big screen! On Thursday night August 24th 30 of us gathered for the event. All Governor directed protocol’s were followed with masks in the lobby and building until we were in the theatre, and social distance seating (except during the photo) in the theatre. The Roxy served it’s usual choices of beer, wine, candy and treats and their Roxy Popcorn! We gathered for a quick picture to remember the event then sat back and enjoyed a great movie. The story covers the early days of America’s participation in the Battle of the Atlantic and the dangers faced by the convoys crossing to England. An action packed show that even the Army members enjoyed. We are looking forward to our next WMMOA Movie Night
